A little about Marie antoinette
Marie Antoinette was the wife of King Louis XVI. She was born in Vienna, Austria on November 2, 1755. She was brought up in Austria and had Austrian education. She had a sister, Maria Carolina, whom she was close with. As a child, she liked to dance, and play various instruments. When she was 14, she married Louis XVI and became the Queen of France. Quite possibly the most controversial one. She was most known at the time for her extravagant lifestyle. She partied a lot, and spent ridiculous amounts of money on clothes, jewelry, and for her hair styles. This hurt her public image that was already pretty bad off. The people of France didn't trust her as much because she was Austrian born. She was also queen when the French Revolution started. On October 16, 1793, she was executed.
Marie Antoinette left a strong legacy. She was very different than all of the other queens of France. She indulged in more expensive things, and didn't care about the people. She also can be attributed to France going bankrupt. She is known by many for saying "Let them eat cake!" But there is no historical evidence that supports that. |
